When We Last Met
Adrian was making a run in the standings late last season when the Calvin Knights made the trek to the Merillat Gymnasium. The Bulldogs (7-3) trailed Calvin and Hope (both 8-2) by only a single game, and, since they still had the Knights and the Dutchmen remaining on the schedule, they were in a position to claim a share of the league title.

But the Knights didn’t yield to the wishes of the Adrian Bulldogs. Calvin lead for almost the entire game (Adrian took one lead in the first half), and left town with an eleven point win.

As you can see from the DeFG% and DEff numbers, Adrian hangs their hat on hard-nosed defense.

They reportedly play a deliberate style of offense that picks and pokes at the opposing defense, but it doesn't appear to be particularly effective. They're only effectively shooting 44%, and their offensive efficiency rating is a pretty poor 92.8.

But their defense is better than their offense is bad, so they're still a dangerous team. Calvin is going to have to take care of the ball and make their possessions count -- something they struggle with at times -- if they want to pick up a road win on Saturday.
